I'm Laura Gordon — a Negotiation Coach, CDC Certified Divorce Coach, and Supreme Court of Virginia & Circuit Court Certified Family Mediator, also certified in the Juvenile Domestic and Relations Courts. I've spent over 20 years in insurance litigation and high-stakes claims negotiation — and nothing in that career prepared me for the negotiation I eventually had to navigate in my own life. That experience became my purpose.
Here's what I know: negotiation strategy is one of the hardest skills to execute when it's your life on the table. When emotions are running high and the stakes feel impossible — that's exactly when preparation, structure, and the right tools matter most. I give my clients the frameworks, the organizational systems, and the emotional containment strategies they need to walk into mediation, settlement conferences, and the hardest conversations of their lives fully prepared and empowered to hold their ground.
I work with people nationwide through every stage of divorce — high-conflict situations, amicable resolution, post-divorce transitions, and everything in between. As a mediator, I create a space where both parties feel genuinely heard and guided toward an agreement they can build their futures from. In 2025, I had the honor of leading a session for the Virginia Mediation Network on divorce coaching and mediation. I'm a Virginia-based mom and entrepreneur, and I understand firsthand what's actually at stake.
