A Brighter Birth is an information based child birth education series servicing the Greater Richmond Area since 2002. We focus on how to achieve an unmedicated, partner supported birth by teaching alternative methods of pain management, comfort measures, knowledge of possible interventions and the risks/benefits associated with each, exercise and diet, laboring positions, and most importantly, building confidence in both the laboring mother and her partner.
By establishing an open, inviting space to communicate and learn with and from each other, couples are encouraged to participate in exercises and discussions revolving around the expectations of their birth. We give an in depth understanding of the pregnancy/birth process and the knowledge to make informed decisions throughout the entire experience.
Our ultimate goal, of course, is for a safe birth, a healthy Baby and a healthy Mama...but you can have so much more. Intimacy, bliss, laughter, bonding with your partner, a sense of empowerment, - these elements are what create a brighter birth. We aim to help you design the birth you want. By learning the physiology behind labor, normalizing birth, sharing inspiring birth stories, and gaining trust in the birthing process, A Brighter Birth encourages couples to seek more out of their own birth experience.
